Ida Pimenoff (b. 1977 in Helsinki, Finland) is the author of Kutsu minut (I wasn’t There), a novel, published in 2021.

In 2022, she was the editor of Kasvukausia – kirjoituksia äitiydestä - a collection of essays on motherhood, with contributions by some of the most prominent Finnish writers and authors, including Silvia Hosseini, Juha Itkonen, Heini Junkkaala, Sari Järn, Juhani Karila, Marjo Niemi, Emma Puikkonen, Venla Rossi, Miina Supinen, Johanna Venho, Sinikka Vuola and Hanna Weselius.

Having studied photography at the Aalto University, Ida started her career in visual arts. From early on, for her presenting her work in book form has been as important as showing it in exhibitions. Together with the German art book publisher Kehrer Verlag Ida has published three photobooks: The Book of Hours in 2015, Perhaps Loneliness Does Not Exist After All in 2013 and A Shadow at the Edge of Every Moment of the Day in 2011.

Along with making pictures, Ida has always been passionate about writing and gradually her artistic practice became more and more about combining images and text. Her lifelong interest in writing and literature culminated in the publication of her debut novel in 2021.

Ida is currently working on her second novel and she is also hoping to publish more essays in the future.
